- Organization: AOL
- Role: Director of Product, then General Manager of AOL Entertainment
- When: 2011 to 2013
- Focus: AOL Industry, then a portfolio of entertainment brands with a $40M P&L and a 70-person organization
- Outcome: Launched AOL Industry with trade publication partners
- Outcome: Led Moviefone, AOL TV, Cambio, and AOL Music

## The situation

AOL was reinventing itself as a media company, launching new properties while running some of the best-known entertainment brands on the web. I joined to help with both, first by starting something new and then by leading products that millions of people already used.

## What I did

### Starting from zero with AOL Industry

I helped launch AOL Industry and establish partnerships with trade publications across defense, energy, and government. The partnerships were built around specialized content and advertising.

### Growing what already existed

I later became General Manager of AOL Entertainment, responsible for a portfolio that included Moviefone, AOL TV, Cambio, and AOL Music, with a $40M P&L and a 70-person organization.
