Launching new ventures and growing established products at AOL
I helped launch AOL Industry from zero, then led AOL Entertainment, a portfolio that included Moviefone, AOL TV, Cambio, and AOL Music.
The situation
AOL was reinventing itself as a media company, launching new properties while running some of the best-known entertainment brands on the web. I joined to help with both, first by starting something new and then by leading products that millions of people already used.
What I did
Starting from zero with AOL Industry
I helped launch AOL Industry and establish partnerships with trade publications across defense, energy, and government. The partnerships were built around specialized content and advertising.
Growing what already existed
I later became General Manager of AOL Entertainment, responsible for a portfolio that included Moviefone, AOL TV, Cambio, and AOL Music, with a $40M P&L and a 70-person organization.
