Chromatic privacy policy

Last updated October 8, 2026

Chromatic is a Chrome extension that sorts the tabs in a window into rainbow order. It doesn't collect, store, send or share any personal information.

To sort your tabs, Chromatic reads the address of each tab in the window so it can look up that site's icon in Chrome's own local cache. It works out each icon's color on your computer. None of this leaves your browser.

The only thing Chromatic keeps is the order your tabs were in before a sort, so a second click can undo it. That's held in Chrome's session storage and is cleared when you close Chrome.

Chromatic makes no network requests, uses no analytics and has no servers.
